Internship Program
The Watertown Police Department internship program seeks out candidates to assist with administrative, technological, and training duties. College and university students interested in an internship with the Watertown Police Department should send a resume and cover letter to:

Internship Details
The Watertown Police Department hires for two positions per internship period.
Duties
(Note: this is not an exhaustive list)
- Assist in developing training materials for officers
- Create digital media
- Data entry
- Various computer-oriented projects and administrative duties
Salary
Internships with the Watertown Police Department are without remuneration.
Schedule
The schedule would be any available days between Monday and Friday, excluding holidays during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The intern's work hours consist of either 4 or 6 hour blocks. Hours are flexible, but we ultimately defer to college or university requirements if the internship is for class credit.
Skills
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general personal computer knowledge and skills are not required, but are helpful. Training in our records system or other internal software will be provided, depending on the work assignment. The intern needs to be able to operate in an office setting and have good teamwork and communication skills.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age, must have a valid driver’s license or state identification (for identity verification purposes), and no felony convictions. A background check will be performed.
