Police Athletic League
The Watertown Police Athletic League's inaugural season was the spring of 1997. The league was developed by then Officers Michael Lawn (now Detective Lieutenant), Joseph Kelly (now Detective) and Lloyd Burke. The league conducts a street hockey league on Sunday afternoons during the spring. Games are held at the street hockey court at Arsenal Park. Teams are coached by Watertown Police Officers. The league is open to all children in grades 4 through 8. The league is divided into two divisions, the Eastern with teams comprised of 4th and 5th graders, and the Western with teams comprised of 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
Each season the league wraps up with a family picnic while the championship games are underway.
